Margaret ThatcherIt has been reported in the last few minutes that Baroness Thatcher has passed away in her sleep following a suspected stroke.

She is Britain’s first and only female Prime Minister and throughout her career at Number 10 from 1979 – 1990 she has been the Conservative Party’s most controversial leader, dividing the country with loyal followers and those with opposing views.

From the Miners’ Strike to the Falkland’s War, Baroness Thatcher retained her Iron Lady title throughout her life and was also used as the title to the 2011 film starring Meryl Streep.

I’m sure there will be a lot of talk and tributes paid to Baroness Thatcher and a full obituary has been uploaded to the BBC website and my thoughts are with her family at this difficult time.
